The gr8 solo artist Julia Shapiro –– also known for making music with the bands Chastity Belt and Childbirth –– dropped off this top 10 and it's a breath of fresh air for me, no Terry Gross. Off top I was only familiar with Enumclaw, Black Marble and Grouper. But I always gravitate to more guitar type music in fall and winter, so this playlist is right on time for me personally, allowing me to tap back into what I grew up calling "indie rock" and avoid staleness.
